Free Comic Book Day

Free Comic Book Day is tomorrow and I've written about it already on examiner.com. The most recent development is that I'm going to be at Borderlands in Greenville, SC for it. I may just have a couple of sketchbooks to sell, but that depends a lot on what I can get done today. I'll definitely be sketching and promoting the Sketch Charlotte anthology.

If you're near Greenville, please come and say hi! I actually look to meet a lot of new people and just enjoy a day of drawing in a great comic book environment! If you're in Charlotte, go by Heroes Aren't Hard to Find, where there will be a ton of great talent in the store.

One more step until the end of the story begins! Anthology commitments are just about over, so the pace should pick up soon!

While this strip's action may be a little confusing, especially in the last panel, the next strip, already penciled, should clear stuff up and take us into the home stretch.

A little article that I'm proud of

I've been writing for examiner.com now for around two months and last week, I did an article that I'm really proud of. It's about the illegal downloading of comics from the Internet. Here's an excerpt from the article.
An employee of a local comics shop remarked that he could see people come in and browse new releases and comment that instead of spending their money on new comics, they would just download it later. This is exactly how the online piracy issue affects comics on the local level first. This is the type of downloading that goes past the 'lending of books,' as Neil Gaiman characterized it, and into the realm of robbing local retailers of revenue.

Parodies as a precursor?

Parodies and fan films are something that have a way of endearing themselves to me. However, given the direction mainstream comics have taken to "update" properties that date back to the Golden Age of comics, I wonder how long it'll be until we actually see something like this?

Holy crap, it's two days early!

Until the story is over, these things are going up as they get done, so you better keep up to date or you'll show up and be three strips behind. I may just have another strip done by the end of the weekend, but no promises.
