Parodies as a precursor?

Parodies and fan films are something that have a way of endearing themselves to me. However, given the direction mainstream comics have taken to "update" properties that date back to the Golden Age of comics, I wonder how long it'll be until we actually see something like this?

Holy crap, it's two days early!

Until the story is over, these things are going up as they get done, so you better keep up to date or you'll show up and be three strips behind. I may just have another strip done by the end of the weekend, but no promises.
